Basic Hear and Play Piano Lesson
Lesson 3 : Musical Meter and Phrase
Lesson 4 : Getting to know the Major Scale
Lesson 5 : Find the notes on the keyboard
I’ve been teaching piano for years.
I believe that there is no student that is too young nor too old to develop interest in music and pick up virtually any instrument they desire.
When I introduce myself others saying that I am a piano teacher, I always hear from them they also learn to play the piano from a young age, but unfortunately they drop out after Grade XXX (Insert number here), and they get stressed out because of the piano exam.
Well, my dear piano student, the music we all are all learning now was written more than 500 years ago from Baroque period till today.
When we play the piano/keyboard pieces of different era, we have to understand the trend, the background and the structure of the music in that particular era. When you understand it well, you will see the piano pieces in a different way, and appreciate it fully. The beauty of classic music composition, is just too beautiful to be described with mere words.
If you miss the chance to learn the piano in your young age, play something that you heard from the CD, or on the radio, or you just want to enjoy playing your own favorite song, I think I am the right person to share this with you.
When it comes to piano teaching, there are 2 approaches that I normally use. Conventional notes reading methods and Hear and Play (play by ear) method. I have to admit that not all students have the talent when it comes to notes reading, theory and examinations. That is why these few year I focus on teaching student how to play by ear and teaching the complicated music theory in a simple ways.
I have posted some basic piano lessons, hope you will enjoy it!
