Ladan found the White Water Rafting at Sungai Selangor from the internet. She was telling me how fun it is, and finally she convinced me for this activity with Khai and Maryam on this one fine day!’
White water rafting is a challenging recreational outdoor activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water.
Journey begins…….1st, start from the body surfing…..
Learning the safety tips for white water rafting from our instructor. The river was full of rocks and small waterfalls which made the rafting journey even more exciting.
Our rafting team

Woo Hoo….. Playing under the waterfall….
This half day adventure cost RM230 person with lunch provided (Rm200 for group rate)!
Start from 8am, meeting point at Kuala Kubu town post office entrance. At put-in point, drivers with their cars will then be escorted by a guide to Pull Out point and leave the cars there after which we shuttle the drivers back to the start point to join the other rafters.
After a briefing on how to raft, rafting commences down the 6km run and will take approximately 1 1/2hrs to 2hrs depending on the water level and convoy size.
It is a good experience that we all had!!!

I am not a big fan of outdoor activities. But I don’t know where my guts came from that i suggest myself, Khai, Ernie, Mary, Alice, J.R. and Samantha go for a hike on Gasing Hill.
Gasing Hill or Bukit Gasing is the only remaining forest reserve in Petaling Jaya. There are forest trails, a viewing tower and resting area for nature lovers.
I have to admit, i slowed everyone down. And i felt really sorry about my turtle speed. But my dearest bro & sister are really patient with me, without their encouragement, i won’t be able to finish this 2 hours hike!

The struggles I’m facing, The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down, But no, I’m not breaking
I may not know it, But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah, Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong, Just keep pushing on
‘Cause there’s always gonna be another mountain, I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle, Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
There’s always gonna be another mountain,I’m always gonna wanna make it move, Always gonna be an uphill battle, Somebody’s gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there, Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side, It’s the climb, yeah!
Keep on moving, keep climbing, Keep the faith, baby
It’s all about, it’s all about the climb, Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

Everyday, every moment we are consciously or unconsciously battling and making choices in our life! When we are feeling down or weak, let’s not only rely on our own strength, and also let the people around us make a difference in our life by giving us their love and care. Let’s received them with gratitude and not shame, and be kind to those who need us!

We headed to Cameron Highlands last weekend for our 1 yr anniversary “Christian couple brothers & sisters group” AKA LIFE GROUP (LG)!
We woke up very early in the morning, then take a short break at the Kuala Woh Forest Recreation Park. There are picnic areas and a hot spring. Just for the fun of it, we placed the eggs in the hottest spot, and it really cooked, but no ones wanted to taste it! Haha!!
Passed by a Water falls near Tanah Rata! Lots of peoples taking photo there, even shooting MTV there!
The Tudor-style, charming boutique resort – The Lakehouse!
Heading to the BOH TEA Plantation! That’s only 1way in and 1 way out ! Mmm… 1 lane in, 1 lane out is more accurate! Kim forced to come down from his car to conduct the traffic !!

Having high-tea in breath taking BOH TEA Plantation! –

Cameron Highlands has lots of Strawberry Farms! The farm lets us pluck our own strawberries and charge us according to the weight.

The day was a drizzling day! We had steamboat in this cold climate! But not the normal one, it is the Charcoal Steamboat! Look at the funnel. How tall it is!! Why it is made that way? Is to make sure that the charcoal sparks which contains pieces of dark charcoal do not get into our soup?
Ok! After a long day trip, we stayed over-night in a wooden holiday house! So for sure, leave it to Khai & Yuenn – always have a board game! Lets see how vicious our friends really are!
Early 2nd day morning, Esther cooked us a nice breakfast!
This wooden holiday house was actually kind of big! It has 5 rooms, a very big dining area, and a very big badminton court. We can jump around everywhere! Yeah!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful Vegetables Farm!
And we did lots of shopping! Especially the sweet and juicy pearl corns!
Till now, I’m still reminiscing the taste of the chocolate fondue that Esther prepare for supper, the silly quest with the answer that we cannot figure out and the funny jokes that make us laugh on the trip! Haha! ^^

Khai, Jaz and Edmund(Toh) conduct a workshop in Penang last weekend in Penang! Since Ladan is here in Malaysia again, we had this roadtrip with Khai to Penang this time!
Thanks to David and Zamri for their help, they arranged for us the Hotel and workshop room in Vistana Hotel! Even though we went on the Public holiday and weekend, but luckily it is nearby a small shopping mall that we can walk around and get some food there!
The next day, Ladan and I joined the Hotel Limo Tour service! Our driver, Mr.Wan is a really nice man, he show us around, and told us lots of stories about this City!
We first check out the Toy Museum! The Museum has over 100,000 toys, dolls and others fun collectibles.

Later on, Mr.Wan is so proud of 1 of the fast food outlet! He told us that, Penang has the most beautiful KFC outlet in the whole Malaysia! — It is really beautiful! You can have your fried chicken in this luxury mansion!

The Chocolate Boutique, another mansion!

Penang is very different from other state, it is a place that is full of Chinese, Malay, Indian, British heritage building?

We never let go of the chance to shop in the biggest shopping mall, Queensbay Mall in Penang also! And also had Fish spa in the shopping mall! The Fish spa centre was in the highest floor on the mall, and the staff thought Ladan and I were students, and keep insist want to give us special rate for fish spa! So happy

We shopping till the shops closed and “dabao” food back to hotel to eat!
Ladan bought her favourite Sashimi, and after she taste her 1st piece, she wanted it cooler a bit, so wanted to put in the freezer about 5 minutes time.
Unfortunately, she totally forgot about this, after we finished all the food, her sashimi still in the freezer…. till the day we left….. haha!
Among all the heritage buildings, Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, aka Blue Mansion was strongly recommended by Mr.Wan! We manage to visit there before we left Penang! The most unique feature of this Chinese courtyard mansion is its original indigo-blue paint. It has 38 rooms, 5 granite-paved courtyards, 7 staircases & 220 vernacular timber louvre windows. The design and structural placement of this dwelling was built to the best Feng Shui!

The mansion was the set of a French movie- “Indochine”. It won Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and also Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Film.
Blue Mansion open daily only at 11am & 3pm to public! Photo shooting is not allow in the mansion.
It also open to stay in with a night about RM350!
But to someone timid like me, it’s kinda haunted to stay! heehee!!
Its indeed a fun trip! Thanks Zamri and David for your hospitality!

The next day, we went off to Genting Highland.

Because of the public holiday, everywhere in Genting is full of people. We even getting to a place to have a proper meal is a big challenge. Luckily I was prepares… HAHA

3rd day, from Genting Highland, we passed by Batu Caves.

Batu Caves is the sacred place for the Hindu’s in Malaysia. They consist of three main caves and a number of smaller ones. The caves are made of limestone and 400 meters long and 100 meter high. They were discovered in 1892.

Next important destination that cannot be missed in Malaysia is Royal Selangor Pewter.
The moment you reach Royal Selangor Pewter, the tour guide in the factory shows us the process of making pewter, and they even offer courses in the factory to teach the tourist how to make their own pewter ( RM50 per class).

Have you ever been to zoo negara?
Few months ago, Rachel and I had a sudden urge to visit Zoo Negara. When Khai and Alex heard that, they were shocked and refused to participate in our trip. Unfortunately they couldn’t say no to their lovely wives and so we managed to begin our little zoo adventure.
Zoo Negara is in Setapak. You can see the road sign along the way from Jalan Ampang.
To enter the zoo, you will have to pay RM 15 per person.
Here are some pictures we had taken during our little adventure.

It’s quite nice experience. If you don’t feel like walking under the hot sun, you can take the zoo train. They will take you around the zoo and stop at all the important locations.
So if you have the chance next time, make sure you go to zoo negara!
