The Law of the Garbage Truck…..

Few days ago, I had received a very meaningful email from my friend Kelly!

The Law of the Garbage Truck…..

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head
around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly.

So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!’ This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call ‘The Law of the Garbage Truck.’

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the street.

The bottom line is that successful people don’t let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so…

‘Love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don’t.’

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent
how you take it!

Just for your information, BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP CO is a chain of seafood restaurants inspired by the 1994 film Forrest Gump. Launched in 1996 by Viacom Consumer Products (part of Viacom, which also owns Paramount Pictures, the distributor of Forrest Gump) and the Rusty Pelican Company, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. became the first theme restaurant inspired by a film. The restaurant is named after the movie’s main characters Benjamin Bufford “Bubba” Blue and Forrest Gump, who was inspired to go into the shrimping business by Bubba.

Khai and I first discovered this restaurant was on our registration for marriage anniversary day (07/07)! [P/S: there is many anniversary day, so I have to mention specifically, HAHA!!]

As you can see from the photos, the deco is just like what Bubba mentioned in the movie. This is his dream restaurant!

30 July, all of us received the news about our respected Teacher, Mr. Tan Hui Chong (陈徽崇老师) had left us.

This is not only a  greatest lost to our south Malaysia and also to the whole country.

Teacher Tan is well-known musician, his life dedicated to music, cultural heritage, the local contribution to the development of music. He is also music composer of modern poetry, 24 seasonal drum original founder and Johor Dean of the School of Music and Art. I remember when I just graduated from high school, I know I want to follow my passion and going to music line, so I started looking for University to further my music study. I set my goal to go to State, so I started to work and save money before I earn enough to pay the school fees. One day, I received a call from Teacher Tan, he told me about  1 of the choirs that he teaches urgently needed a pianist to play for them weekly, he was asking me whether I interested for this job. That time I haven’t got my car licence, no car to drive to that practice venue to work, so I told him about my problem. Few more days later, he managed to get a choir member to fetch me every week, and I started playing for them with a good salary. If I not mistaken, I serve in that choir for almost 3 years.

That was a great experience to me. The choir had been to many places to perform, I really learn a lot from them. All this, Thanks to Teacher Tan.

And I will never forget all the songs written by Teacher Tan. Especially this song -” The road to southern”  coz i have this honor to arrange the piano accompaniment for this song in Teacher Tan’s composition CD. It means a lot to me. All his composition will always sing by the art song performances and competitions. People will always remember all of them…… His music will forever play on in our hearts!

To Teacher Tan : Thanks for all the great things you did for Malaysian Chinese, coz you set the good example for us to follow. As a teacher myself now, you motivate me to push myself to be the best that I could.
